Fairhope Yacht Club has active racing fleets of PHRF, Portsmouth, Rhodes
19, Flying Scot, Laser Radial, Optimist Prams, Sun Fish and 420s.
Adult Sailing
We also offer adult sailing lessons every Thursday night. These
lessons are offered primarily on a Rhodes 19 to introduce adult members
who are not already familiar with the joys of sailing.
Club Races
Every Sunday
from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, weather permitting, there is a Sunday Fun
Race which begins at 2:00pm. Then, beginning the 1st Thursday after the
Dauphin Island Race, which is always the last Saturday in April, and
lasting until the last Thursday in September, there is a Thursday Fun Race
beginning at 6:00pm. Racing is generally around
FYC fixed marks.
Juniors Program
A great source of pride at Fairhope Yacht Club is our fast growing
Juniors program, designed to introduce young people to the joys of sailing
and the thrills of competition. In addition to enhancing their
sailing skills by competing in regattas along the Coast, there are many
activities enjoyed by our Juniors throughout the year. Please visit the
FYC Juniors page to learn more about
Junior activities. You may also download an application to the FYC Junior Yacht Club
from
the Downloads
and
FYC Juniors
pages.
Summer Sailing Lessons
Each summer lessons are offered to the children of family and friends
of FYC members. Each session consists of two weeks of instruction in
boat handling, racing rules and the spirit of competition, taught by
certified sailing instructors. Find
